Well I'm 57 and have just stopped smoking and started running...lookimg forward to fully functioning lungs as at the mo my breathing is dreadful! I'll keep going x
Am I too old !: Well I'm 57 and have just... - Couch to 5K
Am I too old !
Nooooooo... I'm 56 (55 when I started). Well done for giving up smoking - one of the best things I've ever done!
I am 54 and have recently given up a 30 a day for 40 years habit and did week 5 run 3 on Saturday - 20 mins - so I would say absolutely not!
I was 56 when I started the prog. Loads are much older!
Ditching the gaspers is the best thing you will ever do. Never again! 🙂
Good luck. Follow the instructions, do the jog bits very slowly and you'll be fine 🙂
Nope.. I was 65 when I started....so.... keep those cigarettes away from you.. follow this programme carefully.... take your rest days and go so, so slowly.... the slower the better....
And..keep posting!
Definitely not!!! I am 54 and seriously was very unfit 7 weeks ago and did little exercise and overweight. Now running 25 mins non-stop!! Follow the programme and take it gently and you'll amaze yourself xx
Well what a lovely bunch of runners you are.. I'm definitely sticking with it xx
No, I was 56 when I started. Just take it slow and don't be hard on yourself.
I am 58 and graduated from the C5K programme on Monday with my 21 year old daughter. By the way, three years ago I had heart surgery. No, you're definitely not too old! Keep the faith.
A mere youngster! NO, I'm still on my C25K journey, I've (to paraphrase the words of the wonderful folks here on this forum) practiced the programme three times so far and am now working on my fourth personal journey. No more comment otherwise they could get mistaken for election communications consultants. BUT ... I'm feeling better, the running is gradually .... ever so gradually ... getting easier - yep, stay away from the ciggies (I'm a smoker in remission too, would be easy some bad bad bad days to re-start, but I definitely won't!). The folks on here will testify that I have a quote for everything (I collect them), so here's my quote for you today, this one's on my fridge and will probably be there for ever (check in with your next post for my next follow-up, please tell me if you'd prefer to miss the quotes!): I don’t want to do it, I want to have done it

This forum is what has kept me going.
No! I was 67 when I did C25K 3 years ago.
Many of the toughest cookies around here are 50+. Go for it!
Not too old! I'm 61, never run before and I finished C25K on Thursday. I pushed myself and kept going till I ran 5K for my final run. It was tough at the end but I amazed myself at what I achieved in nine weeks. Keep going - the programme works. Good luck!
Take it nice and slow and don't give up you will see an improvement, well done for giving up the smokes
I'm 54 and started last week. I felt like 154 at the end of the first run. I'm on W2 now and the "years" are just dropping off me.
Good luck. Very soon I'm sure you'll look back and think that this was one of the most important things you've ever done.
