Ran and jogged about 30% of the Trail at Climax Canyon in Raton New Mexico. My goodness what a LOT of ascent! I think until the 29th of this month when the 5K happens at this trail, all my training will be there.

I walked a mile, mostly up hill, to get there. Ran the service road, uphill 6 times before I even started the trail which is 3 miles.

I sure was glad when I hit the descent. Wow what a difference. Trail raises up to about 7030 feet according to topo maps. I usually work out at 6370 feet. I didn't expect to notice a difference. I'm not sure if it was the elevation of the ascending or both, but I sure felt it.

Anyways, I did 5 miles on foot. about a mile was actually running. My body just did not want to go yesterday.

I'll be back tomorrow!

I have real problems with altitude, above 7000 ft can't breathe. Inca Trail was a bit of a nightmare so I am very impressed.

That's an amazing achievement. Reading your bio, I think you've come a VERY long way! Keep up the great work, life is too short not to try and make it as long as possible :D
