Hi I am now on week 5 of couch to 5K and last night did run 1 found it differcult due to having a head cold, so feeling a bit deflated this morning also not sure if I have shin splints as front of shins are aching, not sure if I should rest this week and start week 5 again next week but really don't want to stop the cycle I am in, am I being silly?

I would try and crack on, to keep the momentum sorta thing. I have a cold but ran yesterday. I always take a big hankie anyway cold or not, as running makes your nose stream 😊 That is a positive and will help clear your head. If the cold is on your chest, eg below the neck, then we don't run

You can expect to ache if you are a new runner. Do the run walks sessions very slowly and you'll get round 😊

If you feel like poo then have a few days off. It won't hurt

Thank you I feel I won't to keep it up. 😊

I suffered with sore shins in the early days too as I'm sure my body was really upset with all this activity! One thing I have found that helps is to keep your feet relaxed, especially while walking and I try give them a little shake out as I step just to remind myself not to be too tense.

Hope your cold clears up soon.

Good idea I do feel I tense to much when running as it just does not come naturally to me something to work on I think.

It doesn't to most of us at first. You have to keep practising ☺
