How do I work out how far I've run?

I don't have an iphone. Is there any other way I can work out how far I've run? I'm currently running on the cycle/walking paths through our area, rather than on roads.

map out the route on any route planner for fitness folks. Some mapping programmes will let you switch to road maps and OS foot/cycle paths.

If you fancy getting yourself a small pressy then you can get a good gps doodad for a hundred quid, I love mine. I am all graphed and charted up to the max. Much cheaper than an iPhone, though I can't find out how to play Angry Birds on it

Same here Greg, love my Garmin!! I'm on their website plus I download as TCX files and put them on running4women.com as well. I know exactly where I am after each run for distance, pace, and mph!

Do you have a smart phone at all? I use endomondo, put the app on my phone and it tells me how far I've run and other interesting data too. Really motivates me!
