I found the 2 x 8 minutes really hard tonight. I am going to attempt the dreaded W5R3 on Tuesday but I'm a bit worried about it!

Hi, well done for completing those two 8 minute runs. Like you I remember worrying about the big jump to 20 mins, in fact I worry about every run but so far I've managed to complete them all. Have faith in the programme, it really works and remember slow, slow and then slower. Tomorrow is my final W9 run and yes, I'm worrying about it even though I've run the distance twice now! I know you'll do it and be thrilled when you do.

Ah thank you for these words of encouragement! I will trust the programme and go for it. I've planned a nice flat route along the seafront so fingers crossed... 😊 good luck on your final run!

Thank you. Flat is good, my usual route is pretty much flat all the way, glad I don't live in a hilly area!

I work near the seafront so that is nice and flat. But I live in the South Downs which is most definitely not flat haha! I try and mix it up a bit. The only good thing about hills is there's sometimes a downhill to male up for it...

First, well done πŸŽ‰ Getting to w5 is easier said than done 😁

R3 is a biggy, if you look at past posts it's the one that everyone worries about 😱 But...... everyone gets through 😁 And you will tooπŸ‘

Like you've probably heard before go slowπŸ˜‚ But go slow, seriously πŸ˜‰ And maybe slow down a bit further. If you've completed each run you're ready physically it's just your mind that needs training πŸ˜‰ At some point it will stop telling you, you can't run and accept you're doing it regardless πŸƒβœ‹οΈπŸ’ͺ🌢

Good luck 😁🌢

Thanks for the encouragement and words of wisdom. I will definitely make sure I am slow (that won't be difficult...haha!). Hopefully I'll see you on The Other Side...

Well done for getting this far. I am just one run ahead of you and also dreaded the 20 minute run. After the first 5 minutes I thought I haven't got this in me, but I kept going. I would think just manage the next 5 minutes, you can do that, and then it was another 5 and another 5 and the feeling of elation that I really could run for 20 minutes. Today I have Week 6 Run 1 which I have read is hard, but I have ultimate faith in the program that has got me further than I ever thought possible. Good luck for your run and do let us know how you get on. Oh and as everyone else said, slow and slower does it...
