So I've been quiet for a while because...I'm in New Zealand! Me and my partner are here visiting his family, and of course I was excited to get to run somewhere so new.
Unfortunately, I was knocked back by a bout of illness right before we travelled, so I was on antibiotics, and jet lag made the first week a bit of a loss, and THEN I realised running in 25 degree heat is a lot different to 10 or even 15 degrees. But FINALLY a couple of days ago I ran Takapuna beach (see the photo - that's Rangitoto island in the background), and today I did a run in Mangawhai, and so I'm slowly getting back up to speed. I've gone back to 20 mins broken (10x2, or 15+5) because I've lost quite a bit of stamina (or maybe the conditions are just harder) but even though these have been some of the toughest runs so far (stitches, out of breath, everything hurts) I'm still really delighted to be able to run in such a beautiful place. It wouldn't have been possible without C25K and all the encouragement on here from you guys, so thank you xxx
