1st post, wk3, running from scary beasts

Hello everyone!

I started the C25k with the best of intentions but Wk1 Run1 began with the longest 1 min of my life.

After checking my watch and seeing another minute go by I checked the app, which was playing up. Michael Johnson didn't pipe up to tell me to 'slow down to a walk for 90 secs'. I tied to get the app to work properly but it kept glitching so I continued by running/walking for a minute at a time for 20 mins.....

Now about to start week 3, I leave the app aside and follow the guidance instead with my trusty Garmin's watch, zoning out with a zombie running game app and I can't wait to go out each time!

I've just signed up to a 5k charity run, this just got real!

  • I've never used any app or podcasts, just my Polar running watch. Worked for me :)

    Oh but I have been thinking about trying the zombie app :D Sounds fun!

  • Half the problem is getting myself outside when it's cold or raining so having something fun to look forward to has definately helped

  • I heard that the app is not good. I download mp3 broadcasts. There is music there, not the best but still, something to listen to :)

  • Does the music change from week to week? I downloaded them as mp3s but then discovered the zombie app. I have the 9 week plan on paper stuck on my bedroom wall instead so I can tick them off.

  • The music change from week to week. But in week 5, even when the broadcast changes, the music is the same. I need to check this zombie app :) lol

  • i use zenlabs a free app and easy to use does not have music but it has a tab so you can play what ever music you have on your phone or what ever device you use

  • The Zenlabs one is fantastic for me. Free and very simple to use - you can find it in the app store by searching C25K. The picture is orange with quite writing. It never glitches and I play my own music through it.
