I have a last minute 3 day work trip next week to White Rock - a small 'city' south of Vancouver - and all I can think about is fitting in a 5k run while I am there. How life has changed!

I know! My favourite part of travelling for work now is planning my running routes and collecting 'souvenir' routes :-). Over the Sydney Harbour Bridge and around Tiananmen Square are my favourites so far.

I'm exactly the same! We're off for a 2.5 week holiday starting Monday and are driving through some lovely places but I keep thinking about finding somewhere suitable for running and turning up at the hotel afterwards looking a bit scary and beetroot coloured!

Are you from Vancouver? I would love to run there. Wasn't a runner last time I passed through, Stanley Park is calling my name.

And running on holidays is the best. I think I've ran in six countries so far.

Nooooo...... I'm from the south coast of the UK. :-)

Originally I was going to stay in Langley, South East of Vancouver, and I had found that the local running group was going out on Monday night for a 5 - 8k. I decided that I preferred a sea view from my hotel so booked a room in White Rock which is actually closer to where I will be working. No running group activities while I am there so I will have to pound out a 5K of my own making. I suspect it will be 2.5K along the prom and then 2.5 back. At worst, I can use the treadmill in the hotel if the weather is really bad!

Running in the UK has become a bucket list item for me thanks to this forum. Enjoy your stay - hope the weather cooperates
