So 25 is Silver and 30 is Ruby... Who knew a 29th wedding anniversary would be Fitbit!!

On Sunday we'll be celebrating 29 years of married bliss with my graduation run. I'm truly amazed. Yesterday evening, after a really long and frustrating day, I went out in the rain and dark for my second thirty minute run. I now actually feel it's real!

I'm planning to celebrate with a Fitbit or similar and would like some thoughts on which one to get??

It really depends on your budget but ideally you want something that does the fitness tracking, measures heart rate and has GPS.

I really like the Garmin Vivoactive HR.

Wow 29 years, that's awesome. Congratulations, and congrats on the run too :)

I have a fitbit charge 2. I started with the old flex which literally counted steps, then the charge as I wanted heart rate, and then the charge 2 because it gave a little more. At that point I wasn't sure if I would progress to running as I was just walking (up to 5K) on the treadmill. I didn't need gps either.

it works for me because it counts steps, gives me a nudge every hour to do 250 steps (as I work in an office I can literally sit at my desk for three hours straight), I can track flights of steps, active minutes, food intake, calories burned, weight loss and exercise. Although the treadmill tracking I only just recently learned how to use.

If I wanted something solely to wear for running I would probably look at other brands. For all day fitness fitbit is pretty cool.

Running watch! Garmin or other 😀 You want a live record that maps your runs in detail and gives you a map. Now that you're a runner it's a no-brainer 😀👍

Tell me about that desk time!! I often work from home and one day, between 8:30 and 16:00 did 8 steps!

Do you want to carry your phone when you run? If not then a dedicated GPS watch (Garmin) would be needed.

If you carry your phone you can use the GPS on that. I have a Fitbit Blaze and I love it, but you do need to have your phone with you when you run.

Do you want a running watch or a smartwatch that can also track your runs?

It is a minefield! I've been procrastinating about replacing my Blaze for a little while, but nothing does everything I want so there is no point replacing my excellent Fitbit Blaze.

The tech is evolving at an incredible pace so I sure I'll replace my watch one day!

Great to hear your graduation due on Sunday well done.

Is your other half happy being 'blown out' for a "Fitbit" !!! Oooo Errr !!

He's delighted not to have to think of something romantic. He'll be with me on the run though.

A Garmin forerunner 10 is what I started with. Highly recommend them. Simple, lots of stats.

And before anyone points it out Ruby is 40. Pearl is 30. It's a typo

Congratulations for tomorrow MotwCoop. Happy Anniversary and happy running!

Let us know what Fitbit you decide on and what you think of it? I'm going to get one for my 60th birthday in May but there's so many out there I wouldn't know what one to get either. So much info coming in from all the posts here, it really is so great isn't it?!
