Looking forward to starting week 5 tonight. I wish I hadn't spent so much time on week1 and 2 now! And the sun has been shining today which is always a good thing
After getting to an hour's running time with ju-ju- 's plan on Bridge to 10K, but getting nowhere near the distance, I have decided to up my speed a bit. My phone won't co-operate at the moment, so I can't use the podcasts. Instead I decided to use the virtual pacer on my newly acquired Garmin watch, set it to the pace I would like (7:30min/km) and see how far I could get. (I told you I was slow!) Well, I managed to do 15 minutes before deciding that I didn't actually want to throw up in the local park. So, I have gone back to the beginning of Week 5 and I am running the second half of C25K again using the pacer. I have the W5R3 nerves already!
Midway through week 7 now after completing Run 2 of the week this morning. Picking up the pace a bit now with my fastest pace yet of 6:33min/km including the periods of walking at the start and the end. This morning was also the first time I have noted my distance at the end of the warm up walk and the end of the run so I could see how far I actually ran for and it was 4.2Km, which I didn't think was too bad.
Must say the music is not as good on this weeks podcast, should just be using the Week 6 Run 3 podcast as it was much better and the same workout.
Already thinking how I am going to keep myself motivated if I make it to the end of week 9.
ooh this is a good idea - to share the small things too..
Didn't run with club last night as legs still sore from Sunday's attempt at a long (for me ) run so headed off late afternoon today. Legs felt SO heavy - even tho only doing a short run today, I ended up still doing my run walk as I really needed my walk breaks. Still I got out there, didn't stay cooped up indoors all day, and added another 6k to my total for the year ( signed up for a 1000km for the year challenge!?!).
I like running when it's dark and I feel I've got just another two weeks left before it will be too late in the evening to do that as the clocks go forward soon. As it is, I now get dinner earlier than normal to allow enough time for it to be OK to go for my run at about 6 pm ( soon after the 5 minute warm up walk it's dark enough ) so, yeah, I'll have to grin and bear the light. However, I can wear sunglasses and peak cap in the bright light and pretend that no one can see me! I wouldn't feel as paranoid if I saw other older ladies out running but all I see are young girls and men.
Done week 7 run 3 this evening. My knees are hurting a bit now.
Finally got out for a run yesterday after over a month off due to another lurgy! Didn't want to over do it, so just wanted to run a minimum of 15 minutes. Ran just over that and felt ok
Only thing was the only time I could go out was the one time it was pouring with rain!! Oh well - I guess that makes me properly hooked by this running malarkey ππ β
