Getting there now! Week 7 next......

Had a good 25 minute run! The sun was out, the birds were singing and I'd got myself mentally ready for it. And when Laura said I can now call myself a runner I nearly cried, I felt so pleased with myself. I've never stuck to running for this long and this regular before. The only thing I've got to stop is the eating more than I need still. I want to loose a stone before the summer, I'm still eating in front of the TV in the evenings! It's a hard habit to break.

I thought I'd do the 5:2 diet with Michael Mosley and bought the book. With that and the regular running I must loose the pounds. It's getting into the right mindset isn't it? It's ok when the sun shines but when it's dull and grey, well, I just need sweets and cakes! Bad, very bad!

Does anyone else have the same problem?.........

Well done on completing W6R3, you are well on your way to graduation now.

I know it's hard but cutting out refined sugar from your diet is the way to go.

It sounds as if you're doing really well with the running - not too far left to go now... As for snacking while watching tv... This might sound completely mad but - I've taken up running AND knitting in the last few weeks. Yes, knitting. Not something I've ever considered before despite the fact that my whole working life has centred around sewing... Anyway, I bought myself a knitting kit and I've knitted a snood and a chunky cardigan, and the happy side effect is - it's helped me have fewer midweek glasses of wine because I'm too pre-occupied counting rows and stitches (though I chose something not so difficult that I'd tire of it!)... Also, I don't want to spill wine on my knitting by reaching out to the glass! So, something like that might help with snacking, too... Just a thought!

Thankyou for your reply Emmy9. I do knit occasionally and have just finished a jumper and also a hat with the left over wool. I also crochet sometimes. I've had a bit of a rest from it but you're right, it does give something else to do and think about. I feel another project might be not far away............
