Strangely I am sleeping and sleeping...my husband has PF too, non running related, he is sleeping many hours too. I've never slept like this in my life, normally when I am not running I sleep very little.
Part of the healing process?

I dunno about the sleeping, but I can highly HIGHLY recommend these if your problems persist. I literally would probably not be walking today let alone running without mine. Got the first pair in '93 - broke two over the years (and yes they are stainless steel inserts - goes to show how my arches operate ) and were replaced without any quibble for free even though wanted to pay for them last time - fair is fair. I figured...but a guarantee is a guarantee they figured
I don't recall suffering from sleepiness.
First thing I would do Is check you gas appliances for fumes, just incase.
I had PF in both feet for two years. I wasn't sleepy, but I was in pain, limping every day and unable to walk far at all. It was miserable. I tried custom made insoles, stretches and nothing helped. Then I got the golf ball and it did nothing, then I read some awful, brilliant advice, which was to stand on the golf ball with all your weight. Grind the fascia on it until your eyes well up with the pain... And it eased, fast. This may not work for everyone, and I'm not a doctor, but that's what helped me. That and, bizarrely, running. Yep, somehow my PF has almost totally gone since I started C25K six weeks ago. This might be because my PF was apparently caused by hyper mobile ankles. I have a clinical diagnosis of bendy ankles. I think running (along with stretches, calf raises, lunges and resistance training) has strengthened my ankles and helped my feet.
If your doctor hasn't already done so, ask to be referred to someone who can check your legs, ankles and gait. It can make a real difference. Hope you both get better, I know the plantar fasciitis misery only too well...
Thanks for your input. I haven't seen the doc yet, this started two weeks ago after a long run, so I'm guessing it's overuse. I'll see the doc soon if it doesn't ease up.
Is it any easier yet CG? Is the 10 k still on, I have my fingers crossed for you. 🤞🏼
It's kind of up and down, one minute it feels fine the next it's very painful. I walked into town yesterday, -4 KM round trip and it was quite bad by the time I got home.
It's a fun run with 5 KM option, so I may go for that if I can switch later. Not holding out much hope of 10 KM at the moment. I'll go and cheer my buddies on if nothing else. I SO want to meet AncientMum !
I've had this too but followed exercises from dr and used a frozen bottle to roll under foot but def no sleeping
