I popped into TKMaxx today because I needed a new purse. I bought a new purse.
But I also bought, on impulse, a foam roller, resistance bands and a toner. These are to help with what I think is possibly piriformis syndrome caused by my running.
Also today I received a replacement mobile phone from the very efficient insurers I contacted yesterday after my other phone broke. This evening I have prioritised reinstating three apps: Strava, Deezer (music playlists) and Bridge to 10k (which I'm about to redo).
And, right now I'm watching "Horizon: the truth about exercise".
This time last year I was three stone heavier and not yet started on C25k.
I can't believe how much my life has changed in a year!

Brilliant Anne! That was just a great post! Congratulations on your amazing weight loss. 😀👏🏻 I know what a foam roller is and resistance bands, but excuse my ignorance, but what's a toner, if that's the blue loopy thing on the right?
Brilliant well done on all you have achieved. I must admit it does seem to take over your life, likewise I spend lots of time on a evening reading different running blogs etc.
Hi, well done on your achievements. I too have piriformis problems from time but think it is caused more from lack of exercise rather than running. Glute stretches help and also using a tennis ball rather than a foam roller by laying on it in the muscle, very painful at the time but seems to help. Good luck.
Yes I have a tennis ball too. Something I read said made me think that the piriformis would be helped by strengthening the muscles round about it especially the glutes. I'm going to add these purchases and the tennis ball to my knitting basket by the couch so they're handy in odd moments!
Well, you've inspired me. I started C25k last year but had to stop after week three because of various health issues. Am planning to restart at the end of January and I'm genuinely excited about the prospect.
Hi Anne, I'm a fairly recent graduate but don't find the weight shifting. I know realistically I have to overhaul my eating habits. I'm just wondering if you made any key/radical changes to what you ate? Well done on a three stone weight loss!
