so it was more walking than running today. Like loisamelia I opened my door to a twinkly world of frosty pavements and black icy roads . (Terrible pic of frosty street! And not my street anyway, but en route to the Common.) But I needed to run today, haven't run since Sunday, so off I went. I soon realised that in order to stay upright and in one piece it was going to be a brisk walk for me. When I got to the Common I ran on the grass and gravel paths (should have taken a pic of that) but in my 56 mins out, I must have only run for about 10. Better than nothing and I had a bonus prize waiting at home. Younger son had just got up and was in the kitchen when I came in, about to make a cooked breakfast, so I got beans on toast made for me .
Happy Thursday, everyone, and safe running if it's frozen where you are.

Oh how nice SW, sensible to walk when you had to, and you managed 10 minutes running which is better than none, but to have your younger son cooking your breakfast! That's just heavenly! ๐
It certainly was. And both boys have been out and done some shopping for me while I raged and fought with a new toilet seat (the fixings didn't fit through my loo), I had to go to the local independent hardware shop to get some new ones and managed to fit it in five minutes flat. Bah.
I slipped five times coming back home so was really glad that I was walking fairly slowly by then .
Great photo. yesterday not too bad My run starting run up canal OK although top of hill had some frozen leaves on it which I walked on prior to running. ince pies etc. that are slowing me down. But at least getting out and doing about 6K and 40 minutes but only thing expanding is waistline not time and distance. Anyway compared to lethargic couch potato last year I can't complain.
Despite that the Sunshine on my face made up for it. I must say you've got your son trained well. It's self service for post run breakfast for me.
Well done for going out, and taking it carefully. A good walk with ten mins runningis far better than two mins running and a fall!
I've just taken the dogs for a muddy couple of miles around the fields. I think we've brought most of the fields back in with us - at least the bits that are in the sun. Some patches don't get any direct sunlight so are rock hard and slippery. Definitely not paths to be running in the next few weeks...!
A good walk always cheers me up, and on the way home I was listening to my Lust for Life album, one of the songs on it is Jilted John singing about his ex, Julie :).
Not running today but walked into town. The pavements were lethal in places and at one point I ended up walking in the road! Glad you made it home safely in one piece and got a bit of a run too. Impressed that you can run without eating first & with the service from your son
I tend to just get out of bed and go. I find I feel worse if I eat and don't usually have anything other than a glass of water before my morning runs, apart from when I do Parkrun and nearly every week I feel sick going round. Probably should have nothing then either.
I don't think son had got up with the thought of making me brekkie . I just managed to arrive home at exactly the right moment, lol. Under the teenage truculence he is still a sweetie
I wasn't running but heading for a day out in London this morning and managed to fall over just outside my house! Two grazed hands and a grazed knee ๐ก Hopefully it'll be less slippy for tomorrow's parkrun....
