Morning all!

Second time around for me having graduated in April/May 2015 and peaked at a slow 10k in 1hr 3mins in July 2015. Dodgy knees and lack of will power mean that 18 months later I had given up..

However.. I'm back albeit 3 stones heavier. Lost a stone in a the last month and ready to get in the C25K.

But where do I start? Having graduated I was loathe to start at week 1 so went for week 2 a couple of days ago. TBH it was okay, but puffed after pushing it for the last 90 second stint.

So do I go straight to week 3? Or do I just go out and see how long I can run for and then work out which week that equates to?

You guys were wonderful last time with your wisdom and advice.

All thoughts appreciated..

Best

L

I am certainly no expert and of course we are all different but if it were me I would go through whole programme again and gradually increase fitness otherwise there is a risk of injury. I suppose it would also depend on what other exercise you have been doing - walking, cycling etc. All the best and well done for starting again.

I don't know what the best thing is to do on this one, but I just wanted to say welcome back 😊 I know that you will get great advice though from those that know! And well done for getting back here! 👏🏻👏🏻

Welcome back. The path is yours to decide but I'm with skysue16 and would just work my way through the programme. Would hate to see you on the IC. Good luck & enjoy :-)

personally I would continue as you are and continue normally through the programme... that way you will be more likely to succeed and theres no harm in doing that too?....

Welcome back - I'm another re-starter (or at least, I was last January and again in April for my most recent two re-starts!). Personally, if I've not run at all in a few months I always go right back to the beginning and do the full programme from the start. If my fitness means the first week's first run is easy, I can push the speed slightly after that so it's still a challenge; and if it's tough enough as it is, that shows it was a good place to restart!
