I'm Feeling Good

2nd Park Run today and once again Mr R got up to chauffeur me to the park and cheer me on my way. Thankfully the nerves I experienced last week at my first park run, did not return, and I was looking forward to running.

The gremlins decided to play tricks with my running app, so after the first 5 minutes it was telling me my pace was 3 minutes per km. At that rate I'd be finished in record timing. But I knew there was no way I could be running that fast, and just ignored it and carried on with Laura and Mr Razouski's encouragement, and no idea of my time.

At the end of the 5k my gremlinised app informed me that I'd run 10km in 29.00 minutes. Ha ha ha... I wish.

Still, when I got my result this afternoon I'd actually achieved 5k in 27:20, which was a personal best, and I was 65 out of 155, and 6th woman in the run. I have to admit to doing another "Go Me" dance round the house.

I can't believe I only graduated a week and a half ago and have managed to get my times below 30mins. Feeling good. πŸƒπŸΎβ€β™€οΈπŸ€—

  • Woohoo! Well done you.

  • Whao you're quick! Well done:)

  • I'm not sure why Davoda, I assumed I'd be slow as I never ran in my life before starting this programme at the wrong side of 50. Still, I'm enjoying my first few post graduate runs. I hope I can sustain it.

I hope you're enjoying running as a graduate too. πŸ˜€

  • A mere girl.. wait until you are as old as me :)

  • GO YOU!!!! πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

  • Thanks Irish-John. I thought of you as I stripped off my running jacket and threw it at Mr Razoyski, my wardrobe keeper/coach/ groupie/minder.

  • Sounds like you trained him well ;)

  • Go Raz! Fab news! What a great time! Bet you're feeling over the moon! Well done girlie! Would love a recording of your "go me" dance! It's a tonic just to imagine it! And we'll done to Mr R for being support crew. Important role! πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ»πŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸ»πŸΎπŸΎπŸ˜€πŸ˜€

  • I think my children (20 and 22) are already sick of the "Go Me" Dance, and the accompanying acclamations. ;-)

  • That may be, but we are not. Keep up the "Go Me" dance. It's just fantastic!! :)

  • That's brilliant! Well done.

  • Wow that's brilliant :-)

I'm doing my first park run next Saturday - do you hire Mr R out? :-)

  • I'm sure I could hire him out, for a small fee. :-)

  • Wow what a brilliant time! congratulations ! 😊

  • That is a brilliant time. Go you 😊

  • Brilliant.. great run and a great time and a chauffeur too! Wow...

    Very well done :)

  • Great run ! That poor Mr R. has now got to put up with your cheesy grin for next couple of days ! Perhaps even into the new year !!

You think you've got problems being wrong side of 50 ? You've reminded me i'll be wrong side of 60 in January !!

If it's true that experts say that at any age you start running you could have 7 years of improving you'll be OK !!

If your hiring out Mr R. Are you doing "Mates Rates" !!

  • I reD him your comment and he said he's available for Christenings and Bar Mitzvahs. ;-)
