I don't own an ipod! Help!
Hello. Do you have a smart phone? Apple or Android?
Absolutely you can. If you have access to a computer then download the podcasts to the computer (personally I prefer the podcasts to the C25K app) then hook up any MP3 player to the computer and you can copy the podcasts to it. A simple MP3 player with ear buds is maybe £15 tops. But, as per the previous reply, if you've got a smartphone - iOS or Android - then download the podcasts to that. It's how I have my podcasts, working from my Android phone. If you want more help then just ask, but please let us know what you've got by way of a phone ... if not, I can point you to a great and cheap MP3 player you can get from Argos.
Hi, I'm about to start my first C25k and I'm interested in the Mp3 player you mentioned in your post from Argos, could you send link please? Thanks.
MP3 players are still about but increasingly people simply use their smart phones which will do the job just as well. If you want one anyway, and there are some advantages by the way even though the tech folks would argue against it: look at this one argos.co.uk/product/3422575 Or simply go on eBay and you'll find loads for less than £10, some even less than a fiver! Good luck with C25K, it works and will help change your fitness world.
The podcasts/app is great & certainly gives you encouragement on the way, but I know people who have done it using just a stopwatch. The weekly schedule us on the NHS live well site
However! I think the podcasts (I used the app, until week 6, but it's the same principle) def makes it more interesting & easier to do.
Yeah a cheapo mp3 player will be fine. i don't have a posh phone either, but folks seem to find the mp3 player format less flaky than doing it on a phone
it can be any brand ☺
You can just write out the timings for your runs on a small piece of card:
0:00 Start Walk
5:00 Run
6:00 Walk
7:30 Run
8:30 Walk
10:00 Run
11:00 Walk
12:30 Run
etc.
Not quite the same motivation, but used with a timer on a reasonably basic phone, will tell you what you need to know.
Good luck!
You don't need a smart phone, any old mobile phone which plays music will do as your mp3 player, download the podcasts to your PC and transfer them over, my old Sony is my mp3 player of choice because the battery lasts so long but for running I use a smart phone so I can use strava to track my runs
