I was slightly apprehensive going into this one as had found W8R1 very hard, but I think that was because I had been poorly and had been in bed for a few days, and so my legs felt very weak when I did that one..
Anyway, today was a busy one so I decided to take dogs with us instead of taking them out afterwards, especially as we run in a woods that they like a lot, and that went OK apart from having to run on the spot as I picked up after them and also tripping over them a couple of times..
The run was easier than the first 28 minute one, but the only slight negative was that I had downloaded Strava as had spent weeks trying to convert the steps on my pedometer on my fone into distance run, and so I thought I'd find out by using Strava... so... the slightly disappointing bit was that it turned out to be only 2 and a half miles... which included the first brisk walk, but not the one afterwards...
I can't believe I'm writing the words 'only' and 'two and a half miles' together... it was just that all my googling and calculating had made it come up further.. so I ended up feeling a little deflated...
We only have 4 more runs to do to finish Couch 2 5k and as a new goal we running in an event on World Vegan Day on 1st November, which has a lap of between 3 and 4 miles ... and you have to do a lap to get a medal... which of course we want... So it suddenly seems like that might feel very hard as it is only about 3 weeks away..
Anyway... not looking past this week, it was a successful run today, and I am completely in awe of my 9 year old son's energy... he was bounding ahead the whole way.. and in fact when I did W8R1, 2 days ago, he did it with me to keep me company, even though he had done it the day before with the rest of my family..
