So, Laura and I split up a couple of weeks ago and I have been missing her
Now that I think that I am an elite athlete having completed C25K ππ, I thought I'd do some work on improving my speed and decided to run to the speed podcast
Gosh it was lovely to hear Laura again, giving me lots of hints and tips and the beat was good - faster than I usually go and then we got into the first 5 minutes run. Again a lot faster but I counted as I went and enjoyed it.
Legs felt good, pace was fine, no aches or pains but my breathing after 5 minutes was beyond help - I dread to think what I sounded like π - I just could not suck enough air into my lungs fast enough !!
So the run ended up being 5 minute intervals of running and walking which isn't quite how I imagined my first post grad run π - how funny!! Although I have to say the run parts felt good - just couldn't sustain them
So, change of plan me thinks! New next steps are to improve stamina and general fitness levels before speed I think π―
Good news is I have clocked up over 9 miles on my marathon charity run so far this month - 17 miles to go in 19 days - bring it on - SLOWLY ππ’ππΆ
