Running Blindfold 2

As a follow up to Anniemurph's brilliant post, my daughter works for the Royal London Society for the Blind and they organise an annual blindfold run to raise awareness and funds.

It's in November this year and if any of you fancy giving it a try I have attached a link below

  • You're not going to believe this Ullyrunner ..... went to the page, thought, that looks amazing, and now my son has just agreed to be my 'guide' for the blindfold 5k! Just going through the sign-up process now! Thank you (I think) for the link :)

  • Brilliant, McFitty - you will be fantastic! If I can do it, believe me, anyone can! I am so slow and such a wuss about trying new things, you will ace it :)

  • Fortunately it's not timed. Otherwise I'd be in a right pickle even if I weren't blindfold!

  • OMG - what have we signed up for McFitty 😱😱😱

  • Ooooh OldPossum are you doing it too? Exciting! We'll have to develop a c25k forum "signal"

  • I know. Maybe we need C25K hats or balloons ! One of my husbands friends has already sponsored us but promised more if he is the one blindfolded not me! Can't wait for the leash and blindfold to arrive. πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

  • I hope nobody reads that out of context! ;)

  • Oh my God, I'm gone for a week and this debauchery is what I return to?! :o

  • Sorry Miss. She made me do it ;)

  • Good luck don't let him lead you astray

  • Gonna keep him on a short leash! Anyway, he knows his Mum has eyes in the back of her head :-D

  • Who's leading who here you're not going to be the pushy mum are you

  • okay going to make sure he keeps ME on a short leash ;)

  • Fair do's remember keep your friends close don't want you falling over xx

  • I think this is the race we're training for! I hadn't realised it was an actual race, I hadn't realised it was quite so soon and my guide and I live a hundred miles or so apart so can't train together, I hadn't realised about the sponsorship required... but hey!

    It will be fine.

    Gulp.

  • Hubby and I are now signed up too 😱😱

  • Well done OldP and Fazzical - no jokes about the blind leading the blind from me!

  • Fantastic! This is just great :)

  • πŸ˜³πŸ˜±πŸ‘ŸπŸ™ˆ

  • Just checked it out Ullyrunner I might see if hubby aka @fazzical is up for it. Hopefully he will be a graduate by then too! I might have to get him in the blindfold though. As I'm eventually going to be in need of a guide I'm not sure I'm ready for a practice run yet! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

  • Brilliant - well done everyone - shame it happens in London. It supposed to be quite an experience!

  • c25k forum delegates day trip? ;)

  • You paying

  • I'd need an extra JustGiving page for that! :-)

  • Well Fazzical has agreed and we are now signed up for our first ever official run and one of us will be blind folded - he's playing hard to get on who but I have time convince him I'm a good guide πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ‘πŸ‘

See you there McFitty !! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

  • Well done y'all, it is going to be amazing reading your reports πŸΎπŸŽ‰πŸΎπŸŽ‰πŸΎπŸŽ‰πŸΎπŸŽ‰πŸΎπŸŽ‰

Although, I think it is going to be fun reading your training reports too!!! πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ

  • Aww Ellymeg come and run into trees with us! :)

  • I need to someone to take photos of our training sessions πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Neither of us are brave enough for the sea wall though. 😳

  • I would love to, however, not available in November, grr! Can you run into an extra tree or two for me, will sponsor you though! Xxx

  • I promise to run into a tree for you and I'll shout bottoms up Ellymeg (chink) 🍸🍻🍸😊

I'll message you my just giving page (don't feel obliged to sponsor, but share for me if you can) πŸ˜™

  • This is amazing! Well done to those who have signed up. A friend we know is gradually losing his eyesight and has been experimenting with running guides. How lovely that people can still have the opportunity to do something they love.
