So today was my allotted W3R3 - gorgeous weather as you will all know, the length and breadth of the UK. Set off to *my* park (you know, I consider it solely mine) to the wee route that I have now done 3 times, with slight variations to stay out of sight. Imagine my horror when there were security guards at *my* entrance, saying I couldn't go in; that part of my park was closed. It's being used for a major national event so hoarding/fencing is going up and I saw loads of workmen doing this.
I got back in the car and drove off back homewards, to sit in the garden. It was too hot to face the unairconditioned gym for the run. Within 2 seconds I found myself saying to myself sternly - what are you doing!! Get back! There is ALWAYS another way round!
I don't know this park very well but its huge. I drove to another entrance/parking area and set off in the soaring heat. A new route! The Unknown! There are loads of trees to give shade so I found it ....just wonderful. I will admit that I do choose a wandering route that keeps to the flat for the running sections, hope this is OK.
I felt this run was easier than W3R2 (late morning) and again, felt elated. That feeling of 'I can do this', 'I didn't give in', 'I found it slightly easier' - these feelings are truly causing me to feel joyful.
In other (related) news, my pants nearly fell down. I feel this programme, plus my healthier eating, is really working.
Week 4, let's be having you!!

you were all right, that very first post I made about the treadmill, all you graduates said this would happen. Thing is, I am still cautious and nervous of comments from members of the public who see me huffing past so slowly or doing a new route as I feel 'unsafe' i.e. is there a huge hill coming up? will I have to stop? but I feel that these feelings will change, eventually. I haven't been back to the treadmill yet, now wondering if I will find it harder!! I am enjoying seeing the stats and the route clearly on MapMyRun as well.
Using the treadmill you set the pace you want to run at when outside you run at the pace you feel comfortable at but once outside you will probably never want to go back inside
I still don't do hills apart from the short one at the start of my run. I don't feel bad about it either - it will come in time, just like this thirty minutes plus continuous running did Relax and enjoy the runs and think of how far you have come since W1D1
Oh that made me laugh - the bit about your pants nearly falling down - I've suffered the same wardrobe malfunction recently! (Week 6 run 2, about a stone lost but it's taken 11 weeks to get this far) Keep going, you're doing so well, and it's got to be worth it if new pants a size smaller are now required!!!
😂😂😂. Shaking it about makes me think of those strange vibrating belt thingies they used to have in the gym. Anything not firmly strapped down used to wobble like a jelly on a plate 😂😂😂
What a brilliant post! (can't believe they had the cheek to mess with *your entrance*)😂
It is so wonderful to hear the delight you're feeling at what you're achieving coming through in your writing! You go girl and get that week 4 under your belt (in fact, make the belt tighter too, we don't want you tripping up if those pants try and make it all the way to your ankles)
Well done for getting it done! Bet you feel much better for it than you would have felt sitting at home. You can do it! Week 4... and beyond! Keep that feeling with you and remember it next time you have a wobble.
