Have just read pollyp1's post about her morning run. It's fab and a delight to read, her obvious enjoyment shines through😊 and I encourage you all to read it if you haven't already!!!

My experience wasn't quite as joyful!!! Having spent a lovely relaxing weekend away with friends where the most energetic thing I did was walking to the barbecue and chopping a few strawberries for the Pimms, I took a lot of convincing to get out there today. Many excuses came to mind, but they were sent packing and I got up and did it!!! My experience was more like going to the dentist - dread it, do it, relief it's over 😳, but I did it!!!

As you say - you did it!

Well done. I promise you will come to enjoy it more as you get stronger.

I do enjoy it - sort of!!! I certainly enjoy the feeling of surprise every time I go out running! The red face and sweat less so πŸ˜‰

Yeah - it's one of those things that are lovely once you stop!

The sense of achievement is fantastic though.

But you did it - and that's the important thing! You're week-end sounds great and I have had less joyful runs (although I was lucky to fall in love with it form the get go). Last night I thought: **** got to run in the morning. No I don't, I'm not doing c25k anymore I can do what I want, Laura, thankyou very much. Actually I want to go for a run!!

Stick with it, the fun'll come - post grad you can be the master of you're own fate and I suspect it'll be a while before I hit 5k.

You wait until your grumping at people and your mood is all over just because you can't get out for a run, no matter how we feel while we are running it's hard not to get used to the happy endorphins and going without them for a while makes me grumpy. Mr Rfc now says if I am grumpy "why don't you go for a run, you'll feel better", and you know what he's usually right. Not every run is going to be great but every time you out the front door and off the couch is going to boost your mood for hours afterwards.

I too was lucky enough to get the bug as soon as I started which is just as well because my poor feet were in agony for the first 3 weeks! For me it was the buzz at the end of each run when I realised what I had actually achieved. It will get easier as your muscles get used to it and hopefully you will want to go out of the door.

Mind you after a weekend of Pimms and strawberries I might have struggled too πŸ˜€

I definitely have the bug, I have hardly missed any runs in the last 10 weeks. I get the euphoria of finishing and a fab sense of achievement- but actually enjoying the running is still a little way off for me! I do love the fact it's convenient, I can feel I'm improving and am definitely fitter - but a little less sweat would be appreciated 😊😊😊
