It was just right. The sun was shining but there was enough shade and I'd gone out earlier than usual so I was coming home as it was properly heating up. I wore all the gaudy, scary, form fitting Lidl gear and my shadow has defined knees (it's the little things) and it just felt right, from the beginning. It wasn't terribly fast (Garmin tells me it was faster than Monday, tho) and it wasn't terribly slow and I made it to where I wanted to be trail wise. It took me a smidge under 40 mins and was sooooo close to 3.1 miles (or 5k) at 2.77 miles but I was facing yet another, much steeper, incline and although I had some energy left I thought I'd keep it. I'm just so chuffed I can run for a smidgeon under 40 minutes and still have energy. Going to stick with improving speed in 30 for a bit but it's nice to know there's a buffer. Happy running peeps π
The best run ever (r5 post grad, if you're won... - Couch to 5K
The best run ever (r5 post grad, if you're wondering!).
Well done, that sounds awesome. The lidl stuff is nice, I got me two tops..
Well done Polly! Slow and steady is great. Keep plugging away, nice and steady, that way you avoid injury. It's important to strengthen that bod with plenty of slow running. Also keep up with the running every other day to stay in ship-shape shape
Any cross training that you can do all helps too
Have fun though! That's what it's all about. Having fun with your new-found skill which can literally take you places.
Sounds great. It's lovely when it all comes together. Those capris are nice and stretchy and a bit thinner than my other tights so a bit more airy too. Just right for the summer.βΊ
Well done pollyp1 , it feels great when you have such a good run and it all falls into place xxx
Wow pollyp1 that sounded an amazing run - and with hills!! it's great when a plan comes together. Woo hoo you - running, running, running!
It was fab and I still feel really energised. I've being doing hills since day one (although they've grown in size and the ones I thought were hills on day one are mere blimps now!) - if I didn't I just would not be able to run for thirty minutes without covering the same stretch of pavement a million times!
Sounds like you had a great run and are really learning how to run sensibly, listening to your body. That is how progress is made without ending up on the injury couch! Keep it up!πππ»π
