... google running watches... twitch twitch. ....do an inventory of my hiking boots (oh have I still got those?), decide that the new ones are definitely a bit narrow on the right boot and the gel insoles make it worse as they are so thick. ..twitch twitch... mmm, the rain has eased off, my foot doesn't seem too bad.
I think I will go and see how I get on in the five minute walk. So off I go, count 1,2,3,4 from the start of the walk, ignore the beat of the music(after all I had a bit of practice last night at the acoustic singaround, when the two people either side decided to accompany me on guitar. Both playing different rythyms, to me and to each other!)
Going well, got the pace and breathing sorted today, now where to go? The meadow is likely to be slippery so off alongside the golf course - are they mad, playing in the rain? No doubt thinking, is she mad, running in the rain? Now what will the grassy bit be like? Oh it's ok, carry on, up the lane, turn back before the mud starts then head pack to the park. Going so well that Laura surprises me every time she speaks.
Last 10 minutes, oh I seem to have speeded up a bit (back on the "nursery slopes" where I started all those weeks ago). Five minute warning from Laura, slow down if you need to - no I do not! Only 60 seconds to go, couple of loops around the flower bed should do it.
Yes! My second favourite run of the programme - my favourite was the 2 x 8 minutes on my birthday, because it made me cry ☺ - but this one was a lot easier after all the coaching from Laura and the support from all of you.
Oh yes, and how was my foot? Absolutely no problem, I think it was well padded with my running sock and soft shoe.
Sorry, got to go now, the soup maker just beeped so it is time for lunch, home grown tomato and basil.
