Just a quick message to let you know that I am absolutely fine.
I am still in Italy and I am still spending my days acting as a human trampoline, propelling my 8-yo nephew into the waves (that's the reason of my prolonged absence; in the evening I am so exhausted that I fall asleep as soon as I sit on the couch... I'm getting old).
I managed to have my knee checked while I am here and on Monday I'll have my first run since the injury, about a month ago. I'll keep it nice and easy, considering here the temperature reaches 30/32 Celsius by 9:00am (!!!) and I'll let you know if i survive.
I'm eating too much but here the food is too good to resist... I'll have to work harder when I am back to Maidenhead.
Well, in a nutshell I'm fine, I'm happy and I'm thinking of you even if I'm not active on the forum. "See" you soon, lovely people!
Ciao,
Saverio

Saverio! How wonderful to see you. And great to hear that you are doing well and is about to start running again. You have to pop in again Monday and let us know that you survived the run in the heat. Please go slow and be gentle with yourself. Have some of that wonderful Italian cuisine for me and a bit of wine. Ciao. Iben
Glad you are ok. Missed you. Good luck for Monday. All being well that's finally my graduation day. It's awful being in the injury couch but it sounds like the Italian vino and food are a distraction!
Good to hear from you secan! A holiday by the sea sounds wonderful, and it seems like you're having a great time good luck for the run! Let us know how it goes.
Good to hear from you - I've been wondering how things were with you. Gkad to hear all is well and it sounds as if you're enjoying life in Italy at the mo. Hope your run goes well - take it gently!
You'll definitely be exercising different muscles throwing like that! So consider it a different kind of workout, do some swimming to ease the aches too!
Take care running in such heat, just have a fun holiday run then you'll be satisfied however you do!
Lovely to hear from you.. good luck with your run on Monday, hope your knee holds out. Take it slow and steady.. (hee hee) as if you didn't know.😊
Still running my 30 mins at least twice a week. Not really able to manage any longer as I run out of route (and energy) but may have a look at Bridge to 10k that Floss has started.
Take care Saverio, and let us know how you are occasionally, you have been missed.
Good to hear from you, wondered where you'd got to - 7th heaven it seems 😀👍. I missed that you were injured so glad it's getting better. Enjoy your run and let us know how it went.
So... this morning I attempted the GCR (Great Comeback Run) with mixed results.
It felt nice to be on the road again, despite the heat, but I managed only 2km before the pain in the knee reappeared ( >_< ). This time I stopped immediately and almost so did the pain. I decided to be cautious and I called the run for today; let's see how it will go on Thursday.
I also discovered I have to re-tune my feeling for the pace, as I run faster than I thought and intended but, all in all, I think it was a positive first run after the long stop.
