W?R? - who knows anymore!

Today was always going to be a difficult day emotionally, so I was looking forward to tonight's run for different reasons, hoping for a clearing of the head and to appreciate the little things we see whilst out in the open air. I had no particular schedule in mind today, just to run. I did 16 minutes, but quite a bit faster than normal and it felt really good. Just to be out there and appreciating being alive, aware of life going on all around me was so energising. I will get back to the programme eventually but at the moment I am enjoying the freedom of just winging it. It beats the couch anyway πŸ™‚

Glad it helped. I've had a few of those days recently and I'm just so glad I started running (and found this place): it really does help.

What a good idea! I've never thought of wandering off-plan and just having a deliberate 'see how it goes' run! Glad you had a good one - hope it helped :)

I keep wandering off plan, it's very liberating!

It's reinforcing the "I run and I love it" habit which is great and it sounds exactly what you needed today.

Just a tiny word of caution (not about your one off)... doing this can sometimes prove to be partly about lack of confidence to move forward and acquire that ability to run continuously for 30 minutes on a regular basis and not just being 'free'...

I know exactly what you mean. Been there (and will be for a while) but just getting out on the road, well not literally, is good and is a lot better than the couch and a big bag of Maltesers! 😊
