Pete Tong.....again?

Well nearly! After a bit of a hoo-hah with W8R2 I thought I'd keep W8R3 nice and simple, straight up straight back, a route I know. Great.

So, I always wear a watch and start the timing just to so I know how long I've gone/go to go, as well as Laura telling me.....forgot my watch this morning. Okay, so no big deal, still had Laura.

Then after 10mins...disaster....no Laura! Arg! Podcast problems...unrecoverable podcast problems. No watch no podcast no Laura to keep me right.....but, kept running! Didn't stop once. Went to where I though I would have got to after 14 mins, turned round and came back.

So I don't know how long I ran for.....but just checked the distance...4.88km. Very precise I know...but that's nearly my 5k! Wo-hoo. Not sure if was the 28mins it should have been, but...I really don;t think it matters. Come on!

Still hurts, still want to walk, but then I think I chuffed I will feel with myself when I keep going to the end. still don't think I'm a runner! Onward.

I guess I'm struggling with the fact that it still feels hard. But maybe thats the reality of it?

Definitely a runner big-fella, especially when you keep going in the face of a technology failure! Nearly up to that magic 5k!

Is there anywhere in particular it hurts ? It's very hard to establish I think in the early days what's a "new runner niggle " and what could be a potiential injury . Unless it's a definite "Ouch I'm crocked " type of pain I would go for the niggle . Sorry does that make sense ?

It doesn't get "easier " as such , I would say it gets more comfortable as you get stronger . Running legs need to be built , it'll come Big Fella . It's all stamina building :-) xxx

there's no particular bit that hurts, It would just easier if I walked! I guess thats normal though. I've gone from no running to 28mins, so I guess pains inevitable?

It is hard - especially while you are trying to do more every week. For a long time, the sense of achievement was the enjoyable bit, but as you consolidate and get stronger you will find enjoyment in the actual running, I promise!
