As planned I used a new app this morning which allowed me to listen to my own music while still following the c25k program - at least that's what it claimed as I parted with the princely sum of £1.49! No start off preamble so I used pause on my headphones (I'm getting much more proficient with the tech these days😀) and started it playing once I was out of the door. Sure enough Madonna joined me and off I strode. However, I seemed to get quite a long way and still no instruction to jog so fiddled and faffed, still walking of course, to get the phone out of my arm pocket thingy only to discover that the music had restarted not the app! Not defeated I set it all up again and off I set with Madonna and warm up number 2. Instruction received to jog and half way through the first 3 minute run the music stopped! No way I could start again now so I finished in silence apart from an irritating American woman barking at me to walk or jog 😬😬😬😬
Rant over so if you've got this far with my post, well done and thank you for listening. I am very happy coz running in silence ain't easy at this stage but I did it and quicker too but from now on I'm sticking with the trusty Laura despite her very poor taste in music.

I'm also sticking to the podcasts and good old trusty Laura till I get though the whole programme. I like to think she is expanding my music knowledge too. Can't wait to meet Julie towards the end!
I stuck with Laura after a couple of technical hitches with music running and apps. On the last week I ran the last 2 runs without Laura. I'd already listened to her on run 1 (to pick up any useful tips), but it was just basically running for half an hour and I could do that without the podcast!
Ha a , that's the spirit. The music is pretty dire, but if you can endure that then you're made of stern stuff. Stoics succeed! Anyway you need to meet julie ....
I only heard about Julie a couple of days ago so I know I have finish as I'm curious about her 😀
Have to say I'm really buzzing this morning. Just took the dogs out with hubby and my Fitbit is telling me I've almost hit my target 10,000 steps today - only 720 to go and it's not even 10.30 am. 😀😀
Laura and her music are OK..they will get you there... I still take her with me on odd runs.. and if I don't she has this habit of popping up into my head, reminding me to do something!!!
She does have a very gentle but encouraging voice. Although I must admit I enjoyed my brief run with Madonna 😀
The most encouraging thing is that I really do believe I can do it now. Rather than terror I actually feel quite excited at the thought of running for 20 minutes at the end of week 5 which barring disasters is now only 4 runs away - who would've thought it.
