Sunday morning and week6 run2, up a bit later than planned so after a slice of toast and a couple of mugs of Yorkshire tea, off to the canal i go. Check i've got everything I need, Garmin watch to track run, c25k app and Tony Blackburn on BBC sounds app. Off I set, warm up no problem at all, started on the ten minute run ok at about 3 mins I came across the man from Porlock, who delayed me on some trivial matter. To be honest he was not from Porlock, but he seemed to be lonley, and I'm a sucker for the underdog, so it was obvious he wanted to chat so that was 3 minutes that paused my run, well I didn't think I was going complete this one because we had a late night last night. After a couple of mins off I set again, I complete the rest of the ten and it's on to the 3 mins walk, feeling quite good at this point, at the bell I turn and start the return, then it's onto the final 10. Feeling quite good, enjoying the views, the birdsong and all the wild flowers, life is good. Then I come across the Man from Porlock, who once again detained me on some trivial matter. It wasn't really trivial, he knows a lady in her thirties who has just had an amputation and wanted to talk about amputation and how I had coped, so I gave him a potted history of my amputation story so far, so if my story helps someone it's not time wasted. We bade each other goodby and I set off to finish run, now as I had a rest of sorts I decided to push a bit for the last couple of minutes, so I ended up running a bit faster than I have since amputation, so something positive came out of it. This is one to repeat on Tuesday

Well done! It sounds like the conversation was important and as you say, helping someone is not time wasted. Also, repeating a run is still increasing your stamina!
Well done on run and very well done on the generous support offered to others.
Well done Pete! The are always distractions on runs!
