I've not been on here for a while, still running though. I sometimes struggle to get out 3 times a week managing mostly 2, sometimes 1. I have also not been running as far as I was a few months back and was feeling quite bad about it.
Today though I went out, didn't look at my device after setting it going. I just plugged in the headphones and off I went, I didn't think about my speed or how far I'd gone or had left etc I just lost myself in my head.
I suddenly realised I come to the end of my usual route but still had some left in me so carried on making it up as I went along. Eventually I was getting a bit tiered and hot so I stopped. I was well chuffed to find I'd done just over 5K.
I was slow though as it took me 49 mins but I'm not worried about the speed. I've been struggling to get anywhere near 5k for a while so I'm really happy I did it. The body feels half dead now, but mentally I'm really awake, alert and feeling happy. Now there is just the little matter of needing to crawl up the stairs for a shower.....
