Yay... I ❤️❤️❤️ Parkrun. I've not been for sooo long but was a parkrun tourist at Peterborough today with my son. Loved it, such a fantastic event, and so well organised. I'm going to start going weekly again now I'm not doing longer distances
So good to run by the water and such a flat course too. My son was ecstatic as he got a PB. So scores on the doors:
Me:27.23
Son: 21.13
Then back for a gorgeous cooked brekky from my stepmum... Happy days ✔️

We started C 25k together when he was 12 and I was 42!!! It got us both into running, but more recently he tends to train alone apart from Christmas' and parkrun so we will have to go more often!! And Thankyou 😎
JJ - you can always incorporate a 5K parkrun into any longer distance training plan. Just regard it as a "tempo" run - a longish one admittedly - or perhaps your plan calls for some Klm repeats at a certain pace or something like that. Or even a short "easy" run?
There are a few reasons why we don't- it's a 20 minute drive to get there, and when I was marathon training the only time I could fit in long runs was the weekend as I work full time, and I could get the runs done early and get on with the day at home with the kids etc. I will make more of an effort now though, Thankyou 😎
If you fancied a flatter Parkrun fairly close to home, come and try Burnham & Highbridge - it's a lovely setting and not far off J22. I've not braved the hilly Ashton Court yet.. Maybe one day..
