Been having dizzy spells went to doc today and have an inner ear infection :(

He said to not run till I'm no longer dizzy. I was fine on my run/walk last night (W2R3) and now really deflated that I have to wait

Anyone else had this? Really fed up lying in bed bored out of my mind!

I had that last summer and it was really horrible. I think the danger is that you feel unsteady and may fall over - plus it can make you nauseous. Probably no need to be lying in bed though.

I think you should listen to your doctor and wait until it settles down a bit. The running will still be there waiting for you!

Are you really asking a random bunch of people who post on a forum to give you different advice to your GP? If l were you l would listen to the medic who studied for many years rather than us lot. In the scheme of things a short delay is not going to make a lot of difference to your running career and if it helps you to avoid falling over while running, then you are best to take it easy.

Oh God no wouldn't go again doctors advice! Just asking if anyone had experienced it! I'm doing OK compared to other people just wondering if I'm feeling ok can I give it a go :)

I suffered from this many years ago and it was horrible. I had trouble walking never mind running! I agree that it's better to suspend the running for now. Depending on where you run, there could be the possibility of you falling into a road or hurting yourself if you get a bad attack.

I agree. Don't run, but do get on with life. Laying in bed won't necessarily help, unless you really can't stand up. I had it a few years ago and even when I thought I felt better I'd still have the odd dizzy spellfeo quite a few weeks. Take care and listen to your body. xx

I haven't had this but I do have vertigo, and I don't run when I'm dizzy. It's very disorienting and a little scary because you don't feel like you're in control. I agree with everyone here though that you don't need to be lying in bed and waiting it out - live you life, just don't run. Hope you feel better soon!

Can't see where your asking us for advice against a doctor! So that assumption shouldn't have been made..

My wife had that, was off work for 1-2 weeks, couldn't do much, just a lot of reading, puzzles, music & TV , maybe some very light housework at times when she felt able, definitely no laying in bed! Can't help illness, you'll be back on c25k soon enough😊
