Hi I have started well I think and I am into week 2. I just wanted to ask when will I start to enjoy it? At the moment it is tough but I am determined to do it. I have never run before and at the age of 45 thought it was time to take some time for me and get fit.

It took me until week 5 to start enjoying it! Just let your sense of achievement carry you to that point!

Thank you, I will grit my teeth and keep running.

I'm just flying with my sense of achievement - does that count as enjoyment. Certainly helps dull the pain 😀

I think that's as good as it gets at the moment! My running buddies keep talking about endorphins and I am looking for them but I haven't found them yet!

I thought they swam in the English Channel 😀

I will post as soon as I find them though especially if they feel good.

Thank you, me too!

Most of the time its tough imho but just sometimes everything comes together and you can just RUN !! Those rare occasions make it all worthwhile.

It was week 7 for me. I miss it now if I don't run

I'm on week 8, it's weird sometimes you don't want to do it other times you're itching to get out on the next run. Also when you complete a week or a tricky run you do get a real high. I didn't feel like running today but by the end I was trying to go a bit faster. Wait until you complete week 5 then see what I mean.

Hi Hunka

I am turning 45 this year and have never 'enjoyed' running in the past. However I am basically healthy and could think of no good reason not to do the C25k so here I am in week 3 plodding through.

I have more energy and a more positive outlook already. I am enjoying the challenge that doing regular exercise brings and beginning to find it easier to get out of bed for a run in the morning. Not sure when I will begin to enjoy it but I know I am feeling better about myself ....

Thank you for all of your replies. I guess enjoyment encompasses lots of feelings related to the run even if it doesn't always include the run itself! I am feeling more positive after reading your experiences and will trust the process! Thank you 😊
