So week 11 finished.

Run reports, a stonking 37 mins, a rather tough for some reason (hips hurting) 30, and today a good 35, 3.3 km run which for the first time I thought 'hey this is rather pleasant, I could do this for a lot longer'.

I have been looking into habits this week. There was some research a long time back about this, where the researcher got misquoted. He said that habits become formed 'from 21 days onward', and a lot of the press grabbed hold of '21 days' as being a magic point where things become hibitual. More resent research suggests an average depending on how big the change is and how you approach it, of 66 days. I figure let's say you can make running a habit after 66 runs. At three runs a week, that is nearly six months. Sounds about right to me, what do you think? Fits right in with my aim to be a 'real runner' by my 60th birthday in September.

You're obviously already a real runner, bulgarianlily .

You know the phrase- "lies, damned lies and statistics"... :)

Everyone on this forum is a real runner- they've decided to get going and improve their health. That's my opinion, anyway.

I have come to terms with the astonishing idea of being a runner. But I aspire to 'real runner'. That will be someone a bit more gazelle like then I am now, who regularly finds what I only get in moments now, or at least I dream that will be the case. I am still figuring out what my arms and legs are meant to be doing.
