Hills are your friends, they said (but what about mountains?)

I reckon I'm going to be quite sore tomorrow. 5 1/2 hours of walking up and down mountains, and that was just the walking time. We spent the whole day out there. My new running fitness helped though. The weather was gorgeous, the company was great, the views were fantastic and I loved every minute of it (slight exaggeration there!). A huge difference to fitness levels in comparison with last year, and last year I was a lot better. And maybe all that climbing will do me good in the long run.

I might do a full report at some point (if anyone's interested) but too tired now!

Oh goodness...so lovely! I am sure your running has really impacted the level of fitness. It must have been tempting just to stand and gaze and gaze!!! I would have loved a dip in that lake!!!!

In turn, that walking will help the running...I noticed it helped my cycling... just stronger legs and more puff!

I think we need a full report please, when you are rested! :)

Yes, full report please - looks magnificent! I was on Tenerife in February and noticed a big improvement in 'hill' fitness when walking up El Teide (and I was only up to week 5 then).

Looks absolutely fantastic.

MilesYonder used to call hills his 'inclinous friends'  - but then he is a glutton for punishment!
