Into week 4! What about hills?!

Hi all,

I feel like I'm doing ok 😳I did W4R1 yesterday but, although I did finish it, I'm really struggling with the hills . Up to now I've pretty much been able to avoid hills but now I'm running for longer, they're difficult to avoid. What does everyone do about hills in the early stages of C25K - Should I just take the hills with the flat and slow down or redo runs? I just feel it will hold me back. Some guidance would be gratefully received! Thanks! 🤗

I altered my route in W6 to avoid finishing every run on a long hill.

They will make you stronger, so if you can run them, even slowly, then they are doing you good.

Just keep going. You are doing great.

Whats a hill to one person is an incline to another. I agree with IannodaTruffe , give it a go and slow down when you need to. You will get stronger each run and in a few weeks you wont even notice the hill anymore

You're right - I'm going to start feeling differently about them from now on. Cheers!

As IT, but if you really can't avoid them then take them very slowly, dont get up on the toes too much (or you may really feel it in the calves) head up shoulders back looking into the distance, short steps, hills will be great for you!😊

I actually think its really good to get used to running on hills ( perhaps not mountains yet though)... just take them slowly, chunk them up by counting or aiming for something half way up and so on... it makes them pass alot quicker...
