Today's work out was

Walk 3/4 of a mile to a hill.

Jog uphill 3:00 walk 3:00

Run/jog 29 minutes mostly uphill. 30 degree grade.

Walk 1 mile home

Appr 4.75 miles

Today was work, pain and push, not at all as glorious as Monday's breaking of a threshold. But, I did push 3 minutes longer. My legs were still quite sore from Monday's work out. So I pushed along with a jog mostly up hill again, working on controlled breathing and praying I'd make it. I did run the last bit and it felt really good.

Thank you Lord

5k May 14  - I am on an every other day work schedule. Friday I will pick back up on week 4 of my Run a 5K training App since my thigh seems healed now.

I will have Friday 6th, Sunday 8th, Tuesday 10th, Thursday 12th as work out days, then Saturday 14th is the 5K Run Day here in Raton New Mexico at Climax Canyon.  I was hoping to get a two day rest before the Event but the schedule falls right on the day. These will be track days with no hills. I really hope I can get to running and leave the jogging for warm up.

There's a lot of uphill there! Well done. What temperature is it in Mexico at the minute?

fortunately it was only 70° by the time I finished. This was the road at the trail head of the coming 5K . Much more uphill on that trail.  It is forecast to be warm on 5K day reaching 80 midday.  Since run starts at 10:00 am we should see another 70° run.

Well done. The uphill running will make you stronger but be careful you don't develop shin splints which isn't fun

Shin splints were the first thing I noticed when I started this. I immediately learned some stretches and examined my form. I still have very mild burn in my left leg with those. For some reason the left leg is working harder. Hopefully as I restore my core that will get corrected.  :-)
