Woodland trail run

Woodland trail run

Usually walk up to slimming world but as its such a lovely evening I thought I would run there. 2 miles uphill all the way, bit squelchy in places but a very enjoyable run. Think I need to get some trail running shoes now.

The woods are lovely this time of year, birds singing, subshine slanting through the trees highlighting the bluebells. Nice

  • What a lovely picture! Yes, that route does look very lovely to run. Thanks for posting! And I hope that you either lost/maintained at SW =]

  • Big-Andy.. beautiful. I would love to have been there with you... raining here! But not snow!

    Hope SW went well :)

  • Peaceful trees all waiting to welcome you. It looks so beautiful.....

  • That's worth framing,delightful light! Very nice...

Well done on running there; I hope they were impressed - I love my 1st pair of new trail shoes, they work great for cycling and will work wonders when I start to walk mountains teehee

  • That looks lovely, I wouldn't have been able to resist running either

  • Jus 1/2 lb off this week but after losing 1st 2.5lb in April i am very happy with that.  Especially as I have been quite naughty this week. The run back was even nicer. Same birds singing, sunshine still slanting through the trees highlighting the bluebells.......

But downhill all the way lol

  • Not 'naughty' just 'doing things that don't further my goals'?

I love hearing about running for a 'reason' like this and this is a great one!

  • Thats an excellent way of putting it. ;)

  • Most of us have a rebellious streak and will find the idea of being 'naughty' secretly rather attractive. Let's face it the 'naughty but nice' advertising was designed to get us eating more cream cakes...

  • Super photo, beautiful light, looks lovely. Well done for running uphill, I find it hard work! Downhill return journey an incentive though.

  • That's a great picture. When spring is doing its thing properly and not pretending to be autumn or winter, it's got to be the ideal time for running. You've inspired me to head out to the wood on Sat for my run. Something different. See if I end up being chased bywild boar. I've heard they can be bad tempered if you cross their path in the mornings!

  • Cooo, Looks beautiful Andy, lovely pic , its making my legs twitch ha ha :-)

You've been " naughty " and still lost 1/2lb, its still a loss and heading in the right direction , so its all good :-) xxx

  • Just ordered some trail running shoes from Sports direct. Im looking forward to more woodland runs.

  • Running in the woods with the beautiful trees and flowers is good for the soul.

Makes you feel so  good to be alive doesn't it ? xxx

  • Oohhh! Look at that path, what a beautiful place, you lucky thing, not so big Andy, my legs and feet are the same as Poppy's, itching to test that trail out......😄..let me at it!

  • Ha ha Madge, Race yer ! :-)

    Looks absolutely gorgeous doesn't it ! ? :-) xx

  • We'd be too busy nattering pops to race, but we'd be running for ages! 😄

  • Ha ha , yes very true ! :-) xxx

  • What a lovely photo - great place to find!

  • I am very lucky here. The woods has about 5 moles of tracks to run around. There is a canal just down the road to run along as well as the Calder Valley Greenway. Its a beautiful part of the world. God got it right when he made Yorkshire!!

  • he didn't do too bad with Yorkshire, think he was perfecting his skills before starting on Scotland😜

  • Very true Andy , Gods Own County !

     Eeey- Ooop ! :-) xxx

  • I bet you looked like Legolas sprinting lightly over the bluebells with a determined look in your eye, your long hair flowing in the breeze as you headed out on your quest to the world of slim :-)

or have I confused this with a film about small people and jewellery ? :-)
