Dutch running shoes. NEVER. EVER. AGAIN.

A friend of mine suggested I try running in Dutch trainers, as they build muscles and help with over-pronation. I ordered a pair on Amazon that arrived this morning. Hooray!

Went for a quick run before lunch and these things KILLED MY FEET!

The pain was bad enough, but the noise they made was just awful. I sounded like a horse.

I had a couple of compliments from other runners, who liked the colour scheme, but they both thought the materials were questionable.

Has anyone else tried Dutch trainers? If so, what did you think?

I feel for you.  They must have been so uncomfortable.  Maybe hang them on your wall.  Wouldn't like to run in those.  Even looking at them make my feet hurt lol.

A *friend* suggested it?!? With friends like that, who needs enemies? 😆

You're right... I think I have to question her motives.

So far, on her recommendations, I've tried a leather swimming costume (looked great, but sooooo heavy), custard gloves with a ham hat (attracts wasps!), and edible wallpaper (again wasps).

Actually, that makes her sound like a horrible person. She's not.

In fact, she's at home, right now, knitting me a parachute for my sponsored skydive.

I'll sponsor you on that one! Not really much chance of you making me cough up!

I'm sure if you stick with them they'll build up muscles - question is where? Quite likely on your arms as you'll end up in a wheelchair!😂

Actually yes, I was mud skiing at a 10k last week, they would have been perfect 😉  and a girl always likes to have shoes that match her outfit!

Was your friend in a coffee shop in Amsterdam when dispensing this advice?

Although you could probably sell them on to Yatesco, they would be a definite improvement on those webfoot Vibrams.

I can't believe that you didn't do any research on these first. They are well known to give you splinters although, if you get lost in the woods during winter, they make excellent kindling.

The custard gloves are a winner. Marathon runners are ditching the glucose gels for these bad boys 😁😁

Oooh , they look soo beautiful ! I love them.  Not to run with of course.... People must have been thinking you lost a bet. Better than running with a pink tutu.
