Love how our brains try and trick us! I often go out with the 'I'll just do a short 20 minute one' but then once I'm running I won't let myself be defeated...by myself!! I haven't run for less than 30 minutes yet. Crazy sh1t lol!!
Your pace will undoubtedly be improving, you're likely setting out too fast as it feels comfier.
It's quite scary realising in week 9 'this is it, I'm a runner'. I certainly haven't hit a point where any of it feels easier yet! I'm committed to it though and am better at knowing what's good/bad for me, when I'll struggle and when to put it in newbie_no_more_pam's 'f#ck it bucket I have heard that around 3 months into post-grad things do start to feel better. I'm hoping it's true!
At least you are out there doing it.. you are doing great..maybe hard work but WOW just one more run.. I'm sure it will be really great..knowing you are about to graduate.. your a star x then you will be off looking for the next challenge..why? Coz you love it really
Look forward to your graduation post.. good luck x
But you're still reading these posts, Doodles123 - so get back out there! Surprise yourself - you know you want to, otherwise you wouldn't be reading here!
Nope.. did not feel deflated..just amazingly and unbelievably, elated that I had travelled a journey which took me from running for 60 seconds, to running for 30 minutes !
Come on, give yourself a shake, take a big breath.. one more run, however slowly... and then you can join the rest of us with the shiny badge, and a whole load of new running adventures ahead!
Negative thoughts have the power to destroy you.. so, Just Do it!!!!
Sometimes you just get a bad run - there are lots of reasons why that can be. Just put it behind you and hope for more like R1. It does get easier, but like most worthwhile things, it does require some effort. Look how far you've come and celebrate when you do that graduation run! This is just the beginning.
