Any thoughts please?

Have just completed week 1 but due to really bad weather I did two of the runs on my jogging machine is this good enough. This machine has been collecting dust for so long I thought better that than nothing and must admit it seemed just as difficult as the first run I did got a proper sweat on.

It counts they all count. You'll find though that the treadmill is horribly boring, and few people enjoy or even put up with running on it longer than 30 minutes.

Plenty of people do the whole programme on treadmills. Plenty of people spend their entire running careers on treadmills either at home or in the gym. Some because of circumstance, some because they prefer it.

There are some differences but it's all running.

I do thousands of metres on a rowing machine, but have never been in a single scull boat in my life, nor do I ever intend to.

Good work. Keep it up indoors or outdoors. As long as you keep going it's all good.

Well done for completing week 1. As long as you've done the runs as written, i.e. followed the plan and run when Laura told you and walked when she told you, for the full podcast each time, it definitely counts no matter if you ran outside or did it on a running machine. Roll on week 2!

Absolutely it counts, all my runs have been indoors on a treadmill, although as some people say, running outside may be less 'boring'. I'm at week 6 so longest actual run is 20 minutes so far. Don't mind the 'boredom' as such, in fact quite enjoy the monotony.

That said hoping to go 'outside' at some point.

A run is still a run, well done for making sure you still got moving!  Weather is a problem, even more so if you are living a busy life with only a few running times available!  The better weather is coming and lighter, longer days, so it will get easier to run outside

It counts of course. Go steady though Zabber.  Slow is the name of the game.  Running outside is where it's at, and now is a good time to get out there.  The time will fly by 😊

I did the whole couch to 5K in the gym on the treadmill. Must say now that I run outside I will never do it in the gym again. I did try in the easter holidays and was bored after 10 minutes so got on a cross trainer instead and read my book at the same time!

Hi, I have done all my running on my treadmill and I don't find it boring.

I did all c25k on the treadmill. Having never run before I think it was beneficial as I could concentrate on running and breathing, not worrying about routes,  pace, bumps in the path or dogs!! Or their mess?!
