Week 5 Run 3 - Slower, honest...

After returning back to the UK on Wednesday, I decided to have an additional rest day before running Run 3.  I wanted to make sure jet lag wasn't going to be a factor in any struggles with 20 minutes.

The first run in the UK would then be on a sunny morning on the Moray Firth, with a fresh coastal breeze. So I followed everyone's advice, and ran (a bit) slower. I started off with a reasonably gentle pace, and managed to sustain it throughout the run.  I am still running a sub-30 minute 5k, and suspect that on week 7 I could well be running 5k distance.  Before anyone loses heart, I struggled on week1...

I ran for a total of 24 minutes, so I could complete the circuit, and feel I could have gone on for the full 30 minutes...   For me, the structure of this course is great, and I would recommend taking up a walking challenge first to condition legs and stamina if anyone is genuinely concerned about taking the first running steps.

I have a plan to do my first parkrun next weekend...

You're doing great xx

Yep, your speed wasn't 'slower' compared to a lot of ours plodding pace but it was relatively slower for you.

That's what the program is about, going out there and doing what feels right for you.

Well done xx
