Sport Relief Run

Hi everyone, I just wanted to ask if anyone else did a Sport Relief run today ? I'm currently training for a 10K in two weeks, and thought this would be a great way to get a longer distance run in, with a really fun atmosphere. The guys like me doing 6 miles headed off first followed a little later by 3 milers and then those doing the mile. It was an amazing atmosphere and we had a fun warm up to begin with. Like everyone on this forum, I began as a complete novice last July on R1, Wk 1, and am now happily trotting around, not very quickly a six mile course. So keep going, and the sky really is the limit !!!

Well done! I did the 3 miles. It was hot & hilly but I had a great time. Chatted to a fellow C25ker on the way round!

I did a one mile run around our village which was the first time I've attempted some serious hills. Managed them though. Not bad for a 61 year old! The kids ran a lot faster than me but hey at least I'm doing it and living it!

I graduated from C25K a couple of weeks ago and signed up to the local Sport relief run to mark my progress with some fund raising. I signed up for 1 mile as I have not yet (quite) made it to 5K and running with a crowd felt like challenge enough. It was a good run, in the end I ran 2 miles. Hopefully 5 by next year...

I didn't run at the event - but volunteered as did my OH

We did do our own cycling 'event' later that afternoon - with no admission fee :)

well done on your 6 miles, that's out of my reach for the mo - happy with my 5k
