Whether you're doing one mile, three or six, have a great day and lots of fun!
Good luck to everyone running for Sport Relief! - Couch to 5K
Good luck to everyone running for Sport Relief!
I'm doing the 3 mile and feeling really nervous. Its' the first time in my life I've done anything like this.
Same here - I have done a couple of long charity walks but never running. Excited and nervous all at the same time! How far have you got with the C25K programme? I had to fast-forward the last couple of weeks to be ready in time and worried I may have over-stretched myself. But have given myself a couple of days' rest, so fingers crossed!
Good luck and do report back!!
I graduated a couple of weeks ago and still run 3 times a week, my best time is 5k in 32 minutes but I still don't find it easy, in fact sometimes it's a real slog.
Good luck to you too and I will definitly report back
Yes, good luck to everyone who is running for Sport Relief
Done it and got the medal to prove it. Fantastic feeling when I had finished but rather gruelling running in the heat. Ran along with Laura but I have my suspicion it wasn't a full 3 miles as it only took me about 25 minutes. 3 months ago I would never in a million years have thought I would be typing this statement. Couch to 5k and this the people on this Forum are brilliant Thanks everyone
Done it too!! Also dubious about the distance - it was quite confusing as there was a short circuit and a long one, and to do the 3 miles they said at the beginining to do 3 long circuits and one short - then partway round half the marshalls were saying 'No, it's 4 long ones and a short one!' My new Nike+ Sportband was indicating I'd have been way over 3 miles if I'd done another long one, so I stuck with the original instructions. In the end Nike+ reckoned I'd done 2.86 miles/4.6k - it took me 36 mins which sounds about my speed. I do feel a bit as I've cheated, but I can at least say to my sponsors that I DID run 5k in training!! Ah well - onwards and upwards - Bupa London 10k in May which I presume will be properly measured and not confusing!
hi - well done everyone!! likewise I completed the 3 miles for sport relief today yet it was around 2.8 miles when measured... I ended up walking in a few spots as it was very different terrain to what Im used to and I think the heat may have got us all today a little bit!! Anyway I did it in around 34 / 35 minutes which is just a little more than I have managed before... Lets not all forget how far we have come, and my previous experience would have been to walk / jog the Race for Life in around 50 /55 minutes....
