Thanks to everyone for the encouraging comments yesterday, I really appreciate it.
I have been and done the park run. I did it with BBC Radio Manchester which is how I got involved with couch25k.
The weather was against us running through ankle deep puddles and chucking it down all the way through. I had a running buddy who was so supportive and kept me running all the way round.
I met Mike Sweeney (legendary Salford radio broadcaster), it made my morning, he was so lovely. I also got a t shirt and a medal!!
I feel epic for doing the park run and completing it! I actually felt so emotional on completion. Week 8, Run 3 done!!
To anyone contemplating a park run, just do it! Sense of achievement is out of this world. What an amazing supportive atmosphere and an incredible group of people.
Iβve attached a pic of me and Mike Sweeny, I look awful, but never mind πππ

Lovely photo, congratulations on completing your first 5k Parkrun, onwards and upwards to week 9, you could run the third run of week 9 at next Saturday's Parkrun, your graduation run
I donβt know what your talking about. You look great. Congratulations on your first Parkrun and well done for braving the weather. It was awful. We did a Parkrun too through heavy driving wind and rain. Itβs wonderful sense of achievement.
You got a mention in south Manchester at parkrun too! I was told about you running this as we pondered the atrocious weather, mud and wind... what a baptism into the parkrun community! Great job... and donβt worry, you look fab. I hope that they didnβt play any ABBA in the presence of Sweeney!!!
Wow well done to you for completing your first park run in that weather ! I can only dream at the moment of getting to that stage π Have looked up my local Parkrun and can't wait to do it !!
