Snail pace

Went out this morning managed 6 of the 8 minute runs due to back aching and finding it hard to take a deep breath. I'm disappointed really because I managed the 8 minutes on Monday . My running pace is now a snails pace jog which I'm ok with because I feel this will get better as my body adjusts to this new lifestyle but I can't even walk at a decent pace now I'm walking on my fast 90sec walk at a slower pace then my normal walking pace. Oh well will see what happens on Friday morning hopefully better then today .

That's all okay, as long as you keep moving forward, to slightly paraphrase Rocky. Whatever pace keeps you moving forward for the allotted time is the right pace. And don't worry about it. Some days will be harder than others, especially at the beginning. It doesn't mean you are regressing, just that some days are harder than others. That will always be the case. I have days where I can manage X amount and other days when X is a struggle. But as long as you stick with it, that X just keeps getting bigger and bigger and you get fitter and fitter.

Hello Rundee! You are not alone at the snail pace of things. My jogging speed is slow, slow and a bit more slow. My 90sec walks aren't fast either but the important thing is to keep going. Friday will be different again. Don't panic and keep going................ See you on Friday, I'll be doing W1R3 then! Bex

The speed, time, distance are all unimportant! Just stick with the program and go slowly!

Are you doing c25k or something else Dee?

Try not to get too disheartened x

We all have 'off' days and hopefully that was just one of them.

Go out for run 3 and stay slow. If you struggle after that one then maybe repeat until you move on BUT try it first, try and keep positive.

These early runs really do set you up to move on. Your body is making huge adjustments- and your mind is too.

Good luck xx
