Sorry I've been missing recently! Had a very rubbish couple of weeks struggling with anxiety and depression. However, I am more or less through this and on the up again! I've got some anniversaries for my Mum coming up and I've got my yearly hospital check up!
So I've been doing my runs 3 times a week and improving my times and more importantly distance. This is my most recent run completed this evening!!!!
What's the goss? Any news to tell?

Hiya, Elsie! I'm sorry to hear you've been struggling, but well done for still getting out there. It can be so crippling that it keeps you house-bound, but you've still mustered up the energy and courage to get out there and do something positive, which is amazing. Your run is so impressive, too! You're only a recent graduate and you're running for a long amount of time! And just look at that calorie burn! I am in awe of you. You're very inspirational on many levels
Also, how dyou get the smiley faces on runkeeper? I upgraded to the paid version (with 25% off because I'm awesome), but I have no smiley face option! And I like smiley faces!!
Hiya! Thanks for your kind words. I just try to keep on keeping on the best I can. It's a right bugger for anyone but I do just dust myself off and move on. Having said that I do just let myself feel it now and work through it! It seems to work better for me that way! I am a plodder but seem to be building up nicely! Never thought I'd be doing more than 5K I must admit.
The smiley face is on the final screen so not sure how I get them! I don't pay so it might be a feature of the free bit! I love a smiley fact too, just need to get one on me own chops!!!!! xxx
Thanks my lovely! I've missed you all. I don't like to spread my misery! Haha! I'm back and smiling again!!! xxx
Hi Elsie good to see you are still out tgere doing it despite your struggles , I hope the running helps along thecway, some great stats there too, well done
Hi Elsie, you and Saul really motivated me earlier on in the programme - I loved your posts and the cameraderie between you and your running buddy. Cheered when you both graduated more or less exactly a month ago. Thought to myself "if I'm lucky, that'll be me in a months time". Well it was. And now I'm looking at that distance and 51 mins of running and thinking with awe that's something else to aim for.
Keep posting here, keep running - you have a lot of admirers! And we'll do our best to cheer you up as well 😘
Thank you Jaysee, well done you on graduating. I am amazed a t what I've been able to achieve so far. It's a real process I find and I just keep upping my distance little by little and find I can actually do it! I still need to pinch myself sometimes.
Great running Elsie!nice to see you back. I've had problems with anxiety and depression in the past few years and running seems to have helped me alot. You are strong lady and have been through so much you should be very proud of yourself. Keep going x
Thanks Aliboo. You know what it's like to feel like this eh? I have less and less down days, in fact bearly any but I've learnt to look after myself if it happens.
No problems Elsie, I think there are alot of us here that have been through the same thing........ It's surprising when you talk about it how many are affected. I had my last proper bad patch coming up for 5 years ago now, but certainly still have the threat of the "black dog" and to be honest I find it pretty scary to think of that!so try to stay positive most of the time. Been running a bit over 2 years now and it does still amaze me that I can do it!
You are very strong with all you have gone through and are doing brilliantly 😊
Hey running running bud, sorry to hear about your tough/rough time. Nice to see that you are still running though, and also running further than me! I'm still on the 5k baby steps..
Hi there Elsie, good to hear from you. Please don't feel you can't post when you're feeling down. Post any time and don't worry that your posts need to be upbeat. Have you seen the post about the city of London mile in June? Watched the video and I am very tempted.
