I haven't run for 3 weeks. I stopped because I was having pain in my knees so decided to give them some time to heal. I planned on only having a week off but then, just as I was about to go out, I put my back out and then spent the rest of the christmas period in agony. Now I seem to be back to normal, and am planning to go out tomorrow.

I'm concerned at how bad it'll be. Although I've graduated and was running 30 mins + I'm thinking of doing Week 5, the two easier runs to ease me back in, followed by a 20 min run then I'll up to 25 and then to 30. Here's hoping that it's a good run but after Christmas I can just see myself getting to the end of the road (approx 1 min) and thinking back to week 1 then!. I'm sure it won't be that bad at all though (fingers crossed)!!!!!

I hadn't run for 2 1/2 weeks ( due to chest infection, lack of time etc) and went on New Year's Eve, dreading it...thought same as you, do week 5 and it was ok! Hard work and the route I did had a couple of hills, one of which defeated exhausted me but I did the 3x5 min runs and thinking I will go tomorrow and do run 2 of wk 5 and see how it goes...

I'm sure you'll be fine lovely, I surprised myself and it gave me the running bug back again...

Thanks for the reply. Glad it went well for you and it's given me the determination to get out there. I need to get my bug back desperately!

that feeling of being out of the game is awful, i know as i had to take a break from September to the end of November on the advice of my GP but i am back running again and it is awesome!!! I just went out with week 9 and Laura spurring me on. I went very slowly and took walk breaks if needed and just gradually built up. Now i am back to my regular 3 x 5k run a week. I dont worry about speed, i just listen to Laura and try to increase my distance if i can, if i cant i dont beat myself up. I am out there and that is what is important. Good luck i am sure you will be fine. Just take your time.
