An Elfie start to Christmas!

Hi all,

Today was our park run's 300th run, celebrated in the normal way with seasonal fancy dress and cake. There were santa's a plenty, a snowman, Xmas pudding etc., lots of festive head attire and four 50th milestone runs.

My outfit was very, very, very hot, given the extremely mild weather we're having, I would not have normally chosen to run in these temperatures wearing a woolly felt outfit! - you can see I still have a bit of a rosy glow - the photo was once we were back home!

Happy running Xmas all!

Mx

Blimey Madge, hats off to you for running in that in these temperatures. Crazy isn't it? I bet that was great fun though.

Thanks IP, yes, it makes you realise how good and comfortable actual running t-shirts are 😄, Lordy, I had to walk a bit, I wished it had a zip! 😄. Then had a sugar rush with a mahoosive bit of cake, great start to the day.

Hi aliboo, saw your lovely collage! Yes it made me appreciate 'proper' running gear, but great fun!

I take my hat off to you Madge, that takes some doing. It's great to see that you enjoyed it, well done and keep smiling! 😊

Was there a medal Madge? Apparently some PRs give medals at Christmas..and over the festive period it's just Saturdays as normal I think?

Hi Curly, no medal, but a huge cake and chocolates! Yes cambridge is running on the Saturdays, I think Peterborough and Huntingdon are doing Xmas day and New Years day, volunteers allowing - but you'd need to check their web sites.

On Christmas day I'm looking forward to running through town as it should be deserted, but I may well join you for 2nd Jan - will you be there?

Last time I did Laura's Stamina podcast I got a PB of just over 34 mins, I'd like to try it at PR one of these days!

Wow, well you'll be quicker than me, I'm still chasing down 35 minutes!

Looking great there Madge ! :-)

I am doffing my cap in your elf-like direction as it was really hot on Saturday , so massive respect to you Madge for wearing your costume. There were lots of Santa's at my parkrun , they mustve been sooo hot ! xxx

Thanks poppy, I just about managed to keep the hat on to the end, as above, I did wish it had a zip! Mind you, I'm not sure that would have been a pretty sight, I had a crop top and tight shorts on underneath, my mindriff has the appearance of something that needs ironing! 😄
