First 5k......

Well just been out for run 4 after graduating and finally managed the elusive 5k something I never thought I'd achieve! Even the last run 2 days ago I couldn't get much past 4k. Pushed it this morning, although wind was crap and didn't help, timed at 36.27 by garmin so am quite pleased with that

Great job, and don't worry about time that will improve as you go along. Stay injury free and keep on running.

Well done but wondering why you are pushing to cover 5k in week 4? The weekly runs are designed around time and to do 5k you must be moving very fast, not many people cover 5k by week 9 in 30 minutes. I got over confident and carried on running on week 7 a couple of times and did 5k in maybe 45 minutes - felt like a superhero until my legs told me off for several days afterwards.

I decided to trust Laura and the programme, follow the instructions so that I avoided injury and graduated, which I did. Just a little concerned you are rushing your body to do what you need to think about much later. An injury will put u back on the couch, it is not a race.

Love it you are so excited about running but be careful 😄

Not completing in 30 took nearly 37. Basically I just wanted to see if I could do it. I was going ok at 30 mins so I carried on :)

Sorry Joolie I've just realised think you have misread my post. I'm on run 4 after graduating not werk 4 on the programme ☺️

Bless u, will stop worrying about u now. That is a good time, best to go steady because 5K is still a fair distance even after graduation. I am 8 weeks after graduating and only just finding I want to go a little further, still nice and steady at a pace of just over 7 mins per km!
